Papahana Kuaola is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Waipao, Heʻeia, Koʻolaupoko, Oʻahu. The property covers an area of 63 acres reaching from the right side of Haʻikū valley floor, up the north side of the valley wall and extending slightly into the next valley of ʻIolekaʻa
Our mission is to create quality educational programs focused on environmental restoration and economic sustainability fully integrated with Hawaiian knowledge in order to exemplify a lifestyle respectful of kānaka, ʻāina, and ākua.
We are a multi-faceted program servicing Oʻahu and Molokaʻi that looks to ensure that the future we build today can actually sustain us into tomorrow. We need economic self-sufficiency without sacrificing ourselves and our ʻāina. We need environmental sustainability without littering our islands with no trespassing signs. And most importantly we need to do it in a way that is meaningful, in which Hawaiian knowledge provides the course of action.
